La Conference and Events Manager is responsible for driving sales in order to maximize the revenues of rooms, groups, conferences and events through proactive sales and converting guests’ requests to confirmed demand. He/she will report to the Director of Sales Luxury Hotels (DOSLH).

Key responsibilities:

  • The Conference & Events Manager is in charge of C&E affairs such as Delegations, Inventive/Recreation companies, Sports Clubs, Corporate Accounts, and any significant clients in these segments
  • Manage C&E requests in accordance with Steigenberger standards
  • Proactively answer requests based on hotel strategy to maximize revenue
  • Convert a request into a contracted file
  • Ensure that all departments are fully informed of all booked events and any last minute changes
  • Check customer satisfaction at the end of an event, resolve any issues in order to aim for new requests and build customer loyalty
  • Identify new accounts in order to develop demand
  • Regularly review with the Assistant Director of C&E Sales the level of his skills and identify areas of improvement or development
  • Prepare: the daily, weekly and monthly reports as indicated by management
  • Develop a sales culture in line with the department strategy
  • Work as a team, take part of department meetings, team briefings, work projects and support the other team members to ensure common team objectives
  • Acquire market knowledge, knowledge of the competition and events impacting the city
  • Participate in local or international fairs, specifically Mice or banquets
  • The Conference & Events Sales Manager will supervise the C&E Sales Executive and the C&E Sales Coordinator
  • He will report to the DOSM

Profil du Candidat

  • Have at least 3 years of experience in C&E sales and operational field
  • Know how to highlight the reputation of the hotel and our brand
  • Be flexible with working hours and days of the week
  • Know how to lead and close a sale
  • Good sense of data analysis and know how to provide solutions
  • Very good self-motivation
  • Know how to work in a team and transversally with the Food & Beverage Operational
  • Knowledge of Opera S&C is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, another language is an additional asset (Dutch and German are a plus).
