Opening in early 2025, The Standard, Brussels marks the hotel brand’s third outpost in Europe. Set in the city’s Northern Quarter, The Standard, Brussels brings the brand’s design, culture, and activation-driven philosophy to Belgium.

With 180 guestrooms (plus 20 residences), the modern, new-build project features many stages for The Standard’s renowned day- and nightlife. A ground-floor greenhouse welcomes guests and locals into the lobby lounge, restaurant, and terrace. Upstairs, The Rooftop features its own restaurant, bar, and garden—set to become a neighbourhood destination. Throughout the building, additional public and private event spaces are platforms for happenings.

We are defined by our richness of personality, diversity of background and lifestyle and are now looking for a Night Manager who will embody our ‘Anything but Standard’ ethos as we commence our pre-opening period.

Your Role

As our Night Manager for The Standard, Brussels, you will supervise a small overnight team who engage and look after our guests from late evening, throughout the night until breakfast the next morning.

Based on the front desk; you will be in charge of delegating tasks to the team ensuring that we provide our guests with unparalleled level of hospitality, from a seamless arrival and departure experience, to extensive reception services, assisting them with their queries and unexpressed wishes.

In order to provide an exceptional service to our guests, you will be reporting into our Front Office Manager and liaise with our Guest Experience and Duty Managers ensuring that overnight complaints are handled effectively, glitches logged and the appropriate service recovery is actioned. You’ll also have a meticulous eye for detail and work in partnership with the Housekeeping to oversee all accommodation services on the day, making sure room allocations, VIPs and guest arrivals are handled seamlessly. You’ll also be responsible for preparing a number of hotel reports for the next day, undertake the hotel night audit and credit checks for inhouse guests bills.

As a natural team leader, you remain calm during challenging situations whether it involves guest complaints, emergency situations, maintenance issues or something completely left field (No two nights) are ever the same and you will need to flexible to adapt to changing situations whenever they arise!

This is not a ‘Standard’ Night Manager role so you will need to have serious stamina and passion, be highly social, upbeat and friendly; confident and handle pressure well; thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment and able to work equally well both independently and as part of a wider management team.

Profil du Candidat

Do you have what it takes to be our Night Manager at The Standard, Brussels….

A minimum of 3+ years’ experience as Senior Front Office, Duty Manager or Night Management role gained within a similar Lifestyle Hotel or large city centre Hotel is essential for this role. Although prior experience in a similar role is useful, we welcome all at The Standard. You should have an uncompromised and natural flair for service, building genuine relationships with guests that enable us to not only pre-empt needs but foresee desires… yes, even the ones they didn’t know they had!

In addition to this you will also need…

  • A proven background in a customer-facing role within a busy Front Office operation, ideally as a Night / Duty Manager gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ hotel sector
  • To be A night owl (happy to work between the hours of 8:00pm and 8:00am)
  • Exceptional administrative and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • A cool head, able to proactively handle any situation or emergency with ease
  • Have exceptional administration, accounting and organisation skills with great attention to detail and ability to supervise a team
  • Fluency in French and/or Dutch in addition to English is preferred for this role
  • Highly social, motivated, and proactive; professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-volume, high-energy environment.
  • Experience of using Opera / Opera Cloud PMS is preferred
  • During the pre-opening period you will need to have a flexible approach to working hours which may include some late finishes and weekends as we prepare the hotel for opening.
